AGENDA MOTION # 2009-043
Councillor Landry moved that the agenda be adopted with the addition of the FCSS report and notification of the upcoming RCMP information session. Carried.
MINUTES MOTION # 2009-044
Councillor Holler moved that the minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 9, 2009 be adopted as submitted. Carried.
ACCOUNTS MOTION # 2009-045
PAYABLE Councillor Trudel moved that the accounts payable cheque #079 to cheque #116 totaling $38,004.21 be approved. Carried.
TASK SHEET The task sheet from the February 9, 2009 meeting was discussed.

• FCSS Report - February 18, 2009 - Council requested more information on the FCSS Spring Director's Conference that is being held on March 22 - 26, 2009 in Banff.
MOTION # 2009-046 Moved by Councillor Holler that approval be granted to FCSS to purchase 1000 tea light candles for a candle vigil for the Dawn's Daughter's Fundraising event. Carried.
MOTION # 2009-047 Motion by Councillor Peterson that $500.00 be contributed to the Family Literacy Initiative Funding program through the FCSS program. Carried.
MOTION # 2009-048 Motion by Councillor Landry that the Town of Wembley supply a silent auction item(s) valued at $100.00 for the Dawn's Daughter's Fundraising event. Carried.
CORRESPONDENCE
• Alberta Environment - Waterworks inspection completed on February 11, 2009. The waterworks system passed both the primary and secondary sections of the inspection. No concerns noted.
• County News Release.
• Update received from Community Futures regarding the Grant Specialist Initiative. This item has been tabled to the April 14, 2009 meeting.
• Notification received from GPREP on an upcoming Emergency Operation Centre Course that will be held in Grande Prairie for four days in June. This course will be delivered by the Canadian Emergency Management College from Ottawa.
• The second Annual Sun Life Financial Curl for Cancer bonspiel will be held in Grande Prairie on February 28, 2009. All proceeds raised will go to the QEII Cancer Clinic in support of patient financial needs.
• RCMP information sessions on Municipal and Provincial Police Service Agreements will be held on April 1, 2009 in Grande Prairie. The presentation will provide information on the agreements which affect how communities are policed by the RCMP.
DISCUSSIONS
• Plugged sewer at 10120 - 99 Avenue was discussed. Ratepayer was informed of the Town's sewer policy.
• Land Lease Agreement for the Wembley & District Agricultural Society was discussed. Current lease expires on July 10, 2009. CAO to contact Alberta Permit Pro for clarification regarding the use of the curling area.
• Discussion was held on the test water well on Andersen's property.
ROUND TABLE The following topics were discussed:
• Family Day was a successful event. Thank you extended to all that assisted.
• Councillor Peterson submitted his regrets as he will not be able to attend the next regular meeting of council.
• Snow removal at Lot 1-3, Block 4, Plan 3255CL was discussed. CAO to contact property owner to obtain parking permission for the fire department.
• Library Grand Opening was a success.
• CAO to investigate obtaining internet service for the Fire Hall.
• Sidewalk snow removal for commercial business on 100 Street was discussed and will remain as is.
• CAO will be attending the GPREM's meeting on February 25, 2009.
• CAO to contact local business owner and advise that when the Town's employees are shopping at this establishment they are being beleaguered by the business's employees.
