Intermunicipal Development Plan (IDP) (DISCUSSION IN PROGRESS)
The Municipal Government Act (MGA) requires all municipalities to adopt an Intermunicipal Development Plan (IDP) and an Intermunicipal Collaboration Framework (ICF) with each of its municipal neighbours. The IDP and ICF reflect mutual agreements on growth and shared services between two or more municipalities.
The County of Grande Prairie and the Town of Wembley have been working together to prepare a draft Intermunicipal Development Plan (IDP). Now the municipalities are seeking public input to help update and finalize the plan.

The County of Grande Prairie and the Town of Wembley have been preparing an Intermunicipal Development Plan (IDP).
This plan is intended to address future growth and development between the municipalities, including future land uses surrounding the Town.
The draft IDP has now been prepared and the Town and County are inviting the public to participate in an engagement process for the project. We want to know what you think about the draft IDP.
What is an IDP?
An IDP is a collaborative planning document created between two communities that share a border. IDPs contain policies regarding land use, infrastructure, annexation, intermunicipal collaboration, referrals and communications, and dispute resolution.
